ABOUT THE DISTRICT
The Rural Huntington Regional Water & Sewer District was locally formed and established by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management in 2000. Construction of the sewer works began a few years later. The District is an independent corporate entity of the State of Indiana and is governed by a board of trustees with oversight by the State Board of Accounts. The board is entrusted with the responsibility for wastewater collection and pipeline transportation to a municipal facility for treatment services to provide a clean and safe environment. The board of trustees is committed to operate the District in a manner that is efficient and as cost effective as possible. The District has no office nor employees. Maintenance and financial accounting are provided by contract.
